Ivan Grondona (1923-2006)
Ivan Grondona was a theatre, cinema and TV Argentine actor; documentary producer; TV host; as well as a committed and active citizen.
In the 1980's he started visiting the least known places in Argentina, in order to film, produce and host the series of TV documentaries: "El pais que no miramos" ("The Country we have not Seen"). More than a thousand places were reflected in these short 3-minute documentaries.
Ivan was awarded with several national prizes for "El Pais que no Miramos" as well as with the international award obtained in 1986 in the International Festival of Documentary Videos held in BIDVA, Yugoslavia.
In addition, during the dark years of the last military governments, Ivan hosted a bookstore and coffee shop were the intellectuals minds of Buenos Aires gathered in order to talk about all those things that could not be openly discussed in any street.
